In Memoriam - Bill Irwin

It is with deep sorrow that we report that long time hobbyist Bill Irwin has passed away. Bill was born in Brantford Ontario - January 29th, 1935. He passed away on November 6th, 2010 at the age of 75. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held on Saturday, November 13th, 1:00 pm at the Salvation Army Wyndfield Community Church, 33 Diana Avenue, Brantford, ON.

Bill had been involved in the tropical fish hobby since he was a boy and was a member of the Brant Aquarium Society since it’s inception. He was also involved with the people who started the Canadian Association Of Aquarium Clubs (CAOAC) as region 20 of The International Federation Of Aquarium Societies (TIFAS)

Bill held many positions on the board of the Brant Aquarium Society and was involved with CAOAC for many years. He was Judges Chairman for a few years and CAOAC Rep for the Brant Aquarium Society. He owned and operated a tropical fish store back in the 1950’s and 1960’s and I remember when I was a teenager coming from London (my hometown) to visit his store. He and I were also partners in Little Aquarium in the mid 1980’s. Bill was well known for keeping all different types of turtles. We will miss him but I’m sure he is in a better place now.
